The Challenge

New regulations for traceability and requirements for machine and human readability are driving an increased demand for rapid, flexible, low maintenance part marking—especially in the medical device industry.

As a result, medical device manufacturers need a way to safely and automatically apply labels to a variety of devices.

The Solution

Integrated laser marking is a natural fit as a tool to solve this problem. To offer our customers the best quality and the fastest turnaround, Invotec has developed several typical platforms that allow us to offer a series of complete stations that include integrated part fixturing, fume extraction, and safety circuits to provide high resolution laser marking.

We combine the latest advancements in laser marking technologies with error-proofing processes and intuitive operations in order to process multiple parts or devices during each cycle. These stations can be integrated into custom designed solutions using an indexing transfer dial with multiple fixture locations.

Technologies typically used in in these stations:

  • Integrated laser systems across a wide range of name brands, power offerings, and laser types to suit each application
  • Fume extractors
  • Class I, FDA registered laser safety systems
  • Custom part fixturing
  • Integrated error-proofing sensors
  • Safety circuits
  • PLC or PC based operator interface terminals
The Result

Starting with one of our laser marking platforms and combining it with custom fixturing, provides an efficient, fast method of clearly applying a programmable, permanent mark on your product or device. The quality of the mark allows sufficient legibility for both human and machine reading applications. Most importantly, our experience with these systems assures an implementation that is safe in your manufacturing environment.
